MATCH PREVIEW

Relegation is on the line for Slovenia here as League C, Group 3 enters a decisive stage. However visitors Norway will look to build on their historical H2H advantage (W6, D1, L1) as they attempt to clinch three vital points in the battle for UEFA Nations League (UNL) promotion.
If Slovenia fail to win here, they will be relegated if Cyprus beat Bulgaria in the group’s other match. However with two victories in their last ten (W2, D2, L6), and only two clean sheets during that period, there’s not much to inspire confidence in Slovenia.
The hosts are also without a win in four home matches (D2, L2), but did beat Norway (3-0) the last time they came calling in 2013. Not usually the great entertainers, just three of Slovenia’s last ten home matches have ended with over 2.5 total goals.
Norway, meanwhile, also keep it tight – four of their last six victories have been by a 1-0 scoreline. That does come at a price though, as they’ve failed to score in six of their last ten away matches.
The H2H history suggests a close contest, as four of Norway’s six victories have been by a one-goal margin. Despite that, the eight H2Hs so far have produced an average of 2.75 goals per match.
Players to watch: Slovenia’s dynamic duo of Nejc Skubic and Miha Zajc have each supplied a goal and an assist in the UNL so far, while Norwegian captain Stefan Johansen has scored two of his nation’s four UNL goals.
Stat attack: There’s been an average of 4.5 yellow cards shown per fixture over Slovenia’s four UNL matches, while their last game saw three reds!
Eight of Norway’s last ten matches produced two goals or less.
Slovenia have conceded an average of just 2.5 corners per match in the UNL – and none at home!
