Two favourites for January’s AFC Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates, continue their preparations for that championship with a friendly in Brisbane. With just 11 places separating both in the FIFA rankings, Australia (42nd) and South Korea (53rd) are on a mission to challenge Iran as Asia’s top footballing side.
Life for Australia under new manager Graham Arnold began with a 4-0 away victory to an apathetic Kuwait last month. This friendly clash will be their first home match of 2018, having won all five World Cup home qualifiers played last year, albeit with just one clean sheet.

Huang Ui-jo (Korea) has scored in six of his last seven appearances for club side Gamba Osaka, and won the Golden Boot at the 2018 Asian Games with nine goals.

South Korea have led at half-time just once this calendar year in fixtures on foreign soil (D6, L3).
