Fulham – Arsenal Predictions and Preview
- Both Fulham and Arsenal will enter Sunday’s match with confidence after overcoming tough tests and winning by two goals in the middle of the week. Despite an unconvincing performance against Brighton on Thursday, Fulham secured a 3-1 victory, reaching their highest-ever Premier League tally of 22 points after 14 matches.
- For the third consecutive match at Craven Cottage, there were two goals after the 75th minute. In all seven matches played at Fulham’s stadium so far this season, both teams scored on the day. This outcome also occurred when Marco Silva’s men beat Arsenal 2-1 last December, ending an 11-game winless home-and-away run for the Cottagers (D3, L8).
- Arsenal’s rapid improvement since the last international break continued in midweek as they defeated Manchester United 2-0, with both goals coming from corners. The Gunners have scored an astonishing 41 times from corners since the start of 2021/22 — at least seven more than any other team going into the weekend! It was also their fourth consecutive win by two or more goals, a feat they have replicated on four of their last five trips to Fulham.
- Arsenal have been particularly ruthless on their travels recently. In their last two away matches, an incredible eight of their ten goals came before half-time, with six different players finding the net in that time. It seems likely that this trend will continue in a London derby, given that Mikel Arteta’s men last failed to score in a capital clash on the road at arch-rivals Tottenham back in May 2022 (W12, D3, L2 since).
- Players to watch: Former Arsenal man Alex Iwobi is in the form of his life. After scoring twice against Brighton, he has directly contributed to more goals for Fulham this season (eight) than in the whole of last term (seven). Meanwhile, Jürrien Timber scored his first Arsenal goal in midweek, extending his 100% winning record to seven games when he has scored.
- Hot stat: In Arsenal’s last nine away matches, their opponents on the day have all received the first yellow card.
