Crystal Palace – West Ham Predictions and Preview

  • The first games of the Premier League season for Crystal Palace will be back-to-back London derbies against West Ham. Manager Oliver Glasner hopes that this match will go better for his team than the 2-1 defeat against Brentford in the opening weekend.
  • Glasner was disappointed after the controversial ruling that denied Crystal Palace a goal scored by Eberechi Eze with a free kick. However, he made it clear that he would not make excuses for the loss, despite the team’s seven-match unbeaten league run at the end of the previous season (W6, D1).
  • During that unbeaten run, Crystal Palace achieved four consecutive victories at Selhurst Park, starting with a 5-2 win over West Ham. The next three matches were accompanied by a clean sheet against teams that finished in the top eight. Palace has never managed five successive home wins in the Premier League era before, but a four-match unbeaten H2H run (W3, D1) suggests that they may achieve it this time.
