MATCH PREVIEW

It’s a quick turnaround for QPR and Aston Villa as their third game, respectively, in a six-day period approaches. QPR continued their upwards curve with another win in midweek, whilst Villa lost 2-1 away to Norwich.
Despite enduring a horrific start to the season in which Steve Mclaren lost his first four games in charge, QPR have picked up to lose just two of their following ten Championship games to this point (W6, D2, L2). Additionally, QPR’s last four victories have all been to nil.
Away from home, Villa are amid a poor run of form – which contributed to the sacking of Steve Bruce – and are now winless on the road since August (D3, L3). They have, however, managed a goal in each of their past five trips away – all of which saw both teams score.
Formerly of Brentford, new Villa boss Dean Smith is unbeaten in his past five managerial meetings with QPR (W4, D1), and has seen his side win with both sides scoring on three of the past four occasions.
This will be the second meeting between opposing managers Mclaren (QPR) and Smith, the first ended in a 0-0 stalemate back in 2015/16. Mclaren has a record of: W4, D2, L6, vs Villa – both teams have scored in just two of his last six managerial encounters with the Midlanders.
Players to watch: New boy Nahki Wells got off the mark for QPR from the bench in their 3-0 victory last time out.
Tammy Abraham scored the opener for Villa the last time they played in London (Millwall), the Chelsea loanee has four goals already this campaign.
Stat attack: QPR have been winning at HT/FT in five of their six victories, including all three Championship victories here at Loftus Road.
Aston Villa have led the game and dropped points in three of their last four Championship matches (D1, L2).
Villa are unbeaten in eight of the last ten H2H matches (W4, D4, L2), despite being the out-of-sorts side ahead of this game.
