<h3>AS Roma &#8211; Atalanta Predictions and Preview</h3>

<li>After losing 1-0 to title-chasing Napoli in Serie A, Roma had a tough week. They lost their fifth game in a row and their new coach, Claudio Ranieri, admitted that the club was in a tough situation.</li>
<li>However, mid-week they saved a draw against Tottenham in the UEFA Europa League with a last-ditch goal. Ranieri hopes this can boost their confidence ahead of their next match against Atalanta, another title-chasing team.</li>
<li>Roma can draw inspiration from their recent home performances. They&#8217;ve won four of their last seven home matches (one draw, two losses). However, both those defeats came against top-five finishers from last season — Bologna and Inter. So, the hosts will need a perfect performance against last season&#8217;s fourth-placed side.</li>
<li>One of the ways Roma can improve is by strengthening their defence in the early stages. They&#8217;ve conceded the first goal in four of their last five competitive matches, including the last three in a row.</li>
<li>Meanwhile, Atalanta had a great week in the UEFA Champions League. They defeated Young Boys 6-1 in mid-week, marking their tenth competitive victory in their last 11 matches (one draw). One of those victories came in their last Serie A match against Parma (3-1), which kept Atalanta one point off the top ahead of the round and formed part of their current seven-game winning streak.</li>
<li>This will be the third consecutive away match for Atalanta. Despite the effects of excessive travelling, their confidence will be boosted by the fact that Gian Piero Gasperini&#8217;s men have won each of their last six competitive away matches by at least two goals. Extending their winning streak here will be difficult, but they at least look good value to leave the capital with something, having lost just one of the last ten home-and-away matches held here (W4, D5).</li>
<li>Players to watch: Hummels&#8217; goal against Spurs means his last four goals at club level have come after the break, three of them after the 80th minute. Incredibly, Charles De Ketelaere contributed to five goals (two goals, three assists) in Atalanta&#8217;s 6-1 UCL demolition in midweek. Three of his four competitive strikes this term arrived before the break.</li>
<li>Hot stat: Ahead of the round, Atalanta have scored a league-high six goals in the opening 15 minutes, while Roma remain one of only two teams yet to find the net during that period.</li>
